VIEW CLOSING LETTER

Monday the 22nd, August 2011

Nearly seven years have passed and much has changed since the inception of Cypher13.

Now we are two, Todd Berger and Lucian Föhr. Together, we have grown considerably - in principle, in thought, and in capacity - but not in number.

We have grown in practice.

We have chosen to pursue quality in all things - over quantity. This has come to define our craft and those with whom we wish to partner and to serve. We have chosen objectivity over subjectivity, accountability over bureaucracy, and personal responsibility over ambiguity.

And so, we have decided to close Cypher13 and to open a new design studio. We will usher in a new era of socially significant, lasting, far-reaching work.

We will strive to do better.

Goodbye Cypher13.

Welcome Berger & Föhr.

Sincerely,
Todd Berger
Lucian Föhr

    I Love Boulder Identity

The I Love Boulder logo and identity system is designed to capture the spirit and energy unique to the City of Boulder, Colorado. It represents the modern, forward-thinking, natural resource focused ideology inherent in the City and amongst its residents.

The logo and corresponding derivatives are intended to serve as the visual foundation of a citywide campaign aimed at actively engaging and further unifying the Boulder community. The identity system has been designed to support a variety of usages while offering easy integration into a vast array of yet to be realized community-generated content.

The logo symbol and typography aim to be both pragmatic and highly recognizable. The symbol, derived from some of nature's most basic elemental forms (the square, circle, triangle, and rectangle) represents the natural elements omnipresent in Boulder. Those natural elements, including sunshine, green space, mountains, and streams are those which on a very basic level, form the foundation of Boulder's magnetism and together serve to bind the Boulder community.
