ii kanji CD Packaging

When ii kanji called on us in true collaborative fashion to design their inaugural album cover art we got excited. We were real happy to have the chance to work with the band and leapt at the opportunity. Robert Tanaka, the founder of the ii kanji, wanted us to just run with it and interpret their vibe and sound. We asked for a little tiny brief to help, cranked the album extra loud for a few weeks and then started drawing. The eventual concept: band members riding magical bears that both create and consume rainbows - in essence a soft and cuddly anime inspired rainbow recycling team. Awesome.
