Square Footage 2 - Grids

For Square Footage 2 we chose to integrate some of our Swiss inspired grid-based thinking into a new series of paintings called, Grids. Grids are an everyday component of our studio practice, and we rely on them in our design process quite heavily. We enjoy both making them and adhering to them. We particularly enjoy the grids created by artist/musician, Carsten Nicolai, for his seminal grid-based book, Grid Index. For Grids, we utilized components of 16 of Carsten's grids to create the visual lexicon for this series of minimalist paintings.
